Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to:

The content of the course is articulated in four main themes which view the European reality from the view points  of European studies,  political science, international relations, culture, history and philosophy. Within these themes special lectures will tackle issues of political leadership, ideology and practice, policies, security issues, relations with the EU’s vicinity as well as with more distant actors. Questions of values, of identity and civilization, of the origin of European Integration, be adressed in the second half of the course. A special session will target the english-writing skills of participating students. The main objective of the course is to combine contributions from various disciplines to a critical approach of the European idea and reality. Drawing from the fields of European studies, political science, international relations, history, cultural studies, law, philosophy, its aim is to provide a deeper comprehension of the European heritage and the perspectives of European integration. 

By the end of the course, students are expected to have deepened their understanding of the European Idea, the dynamics of European integration, the institutions and policies of the European Union and its relations with the rest of the world as well as the complexity of the European identity.

Το μάθημα αναπτύσσεται σε 8 ενότητες : 

Η αξιολόγηση γίνεται στην αγγλική γλώσσα   

Για την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση του μαθήματος απαιτείται βαθμός ίσος ή μεγαλύτερος του 5. 

Η βαθμολόγηση γίνεται ως εξής: 

Συνδυασμός του βαθμού του τεστ και της γραπτής εργασίας: 

Τεστ: 30% 

Γραπτή Εργασία: 70%

Η γραπτή εργασία έχει έκταση γύρω στις 4000 λέξεις.

Αν ένας φοιτητής ή μία φοιτήτρια δεν συγκεντρώσει τη βάση της βαθμολογίας, διατηρεί το βαθμό του τεστ για την εξεταστική περίοδο στην οποία θα καταθέσει εκ νέου την γραπτή τους εργασία. 

Η εξεταστέα ύλη του τεστ είναι οι προφορικές παραδόσεις του μαθήματος, οι σημειώσεις που έχουν αναρτηθεί στο eclass και η ειδική βιβλιογραφία για κάθε μάθημα.
